CTCP
CTCP is a grey area, clients do not support everything in the following documents and the specs don't match, it's a big mess.
DCC
DCC is a complete mess, it has about two functions, the first is chat, this should work with every client. There is also file transferring, this is a complete mess and there are many different implementations of this, many clients use different ones making them incompatible with others.
Other clients have also added other features such as whiteboards and there has been speak of voice, web cam and avatar features too.
