SDF:IRC Screen Shots

Someone requested that they wanted to see an updated shot of the client, so I've gone taken a load of screen shots of various parts of the client.

Many of these tabs and windows don't have to be opened in the tabs or in windows as I've written the client so that hopefully with can be used just like any other GUI widget.

Consoles

All consoles can accept server commands and all consoles will remember up to 20 commands which can be navigated through using the up and down arrow keys.

Status Console

The Server/Status console This reports things coming to you from the server, incoming messages get colour coded so you can see the different sections. Informal messages have a green background, MOTD messages have blue backgrounds, notices have a white background but dark blue text. Any other text the viewer leaves as black on white.

Channel Console

The channel console Displays messages coming in from the channels (chat rooms.) As many users tend to type multiple lines the console will automatically group messages from the same user and inset them to try and make it easier to read. If a user does flood the channel a reminder message appears so you don't have to scroll up. The console support CTCP ACTION (/me) thanks to the CTCP plug-in.

User list formatting has been implemented though is currently unused. The channel list can be accessed and individual items coloured and icons added.

User Console

User console For the all important private chat, the user console supports all the same things as the other consoles, though at the moment it does not group messages. This may be implemented in the future if there is demand for it.

Properties

You can view the properties of server, channel and (soon to be) users.

Channel Properties

Channel Properties Details The first tab gives a few properties that have been stored about the channel.

Channel Properties Details The other three tabs are used to keep bans, invites and ban exclusions in order. The last two tabs use features that are not present on every IRC network and they may be disabled.

From the ban list and like tabs, new lines can be added and removed.

Server Properties

Server Properties Detail Some details that are parsed from various server messages and responses.

The details tab will show a few basic connect details, your host name eventually and also all the support messages showing what the server/network can do, or giving you details about it.

On the channel search tab there is a small form where by default a list of channels is placed. Searching in the text box and pressing return or the button will search for channel names, you can use list extentions from the search box too. Eventually I hope to create a better form and allow an easier use of List Extensions.

Clicking the button will open your browser and perform a search on SearchIRC, in the future I'll make it so this can be changed so you can use any search engine.

Also in the future I'll make it so that clicking the columns orders the data.

Statistics

I know some people love them, very simple at the moment but I've been busy on other things, one day I will move this to a plug-in.

Plug-in Management

Also fairly simple at the moment, but mainly works, so far plug-ins can be stopped and started from here and details can be viewed. However, I've not yet got any installer or un-installer working.

Settings

Where would we be without settings, needs a bit of work as it hasn't been updated in a while but there will be many more options available when complete.

About Dialogue

I thought it unfair to show off the others and not this one, so here it is a little about window.
